English UK = No.
English US = #

@moem I've tried US, Australia, and Canada English on my phone, and they all have the correct # symbol. Only UK English is wrong.

Is this a bug? And what is the correct way to report the bug?

@barryt Honestly I wouldn't know whether it's a bug! It might as well be a design choice.

I use a Nexus 5 with English (UK) settings. The "," key gives me "#" if held down for more than second.

Switching to numerical keypad the "#" gives me "#".

@cliffcoggin but the OP is talking about the telephone dialer, not any keyboard layout.

I'm seeing 'No.' on a Volla phone with UK English.

If its a design choice I's say people in the UK are used to seeing a hash sign, and will often be told in automated phone services to 'press the hash sign'.

I just read that in the USA its also known as a 'pound sign'
