Actual support for 4G tethering

Re: 4Gusage
I can see that some devices support 4G.I am thinking on getting a BQ E5 HD with 4G support on the device. Will it be able to hostspot from the device with Ubuntu Touch to my laptop?
Thanks in advance

@warrens
Hotspot should work, even if activating hotdpot can be tricky dometime on UT.But VoLTE will not work, now or ever, as this is an old device.
If you intend to use this also as a phone, you may choose a more recent phone.

@keneda
Great, sounds good.
I think I can live without VoLTE....wondering though if I could be able to use whatsapp calls either with Anbox or through the browser.
-
@warrens That phone is not supported, it has Qualcomm chip.

The browser is starting to support video chat, so that might be possible.
-
@warrens vegetahd has no support for 4G
There's an updated version of the device: vegetalte which has no port of Ubuntu Touch

@warrens USB tethering and hotspot work very well on BQ E5 HD : i used both for some years but BQ E5 HD isn't a 4g phone but only a H phone (better than 3g).
-
@warrens The data you show are not from the Bq E5 4G.

As far as I know WhatsAp Web does not support calls in any browser.

Just an information here, BQ E4.5 and BQ E5 have only 3G modems. The E5 HD is not supported by Ubuntu Touch.

Yes, as you point and @Josele13 did, the 4gLTE version does have a Qualcom chipset not compatible with Ubuntu Touch.
Thanks to all for clarifying
