Where are the contacts from the address book saved in Ubuntu Touch/UBPorts? (Apparently not in contacts.db in the /evolution/ directory -- but where are they?)

      With Linux, addresses and calendar entries are usually stored here:
      /home/anna/.local/share/evolution/addressbook/system/contacts.db
      /home/anna/.local/share/evolution/calendar/system/calendar.ics

      Ububuntu Touch has these directories as well. When I copy the calendar.ics from my computer to the respective directory on UT, the calendar has (as expected and intended) all my appointments. (I found that a very simple and convenient way to sync my adressbook and calendar via ssh on my Pinephone with Mobian.)

      That, however, does not work with contacts: After I copied my contacts.db to UT, the app "contacts" still did not show them.

      Does anybody know why it's like that? Do I have to put contacts.db into another directory? Where are the contacts saved?

        @anna

        The easiest way I found to sync my contacts is to export them as VCF and then import the file in the contact app.

          @applee Thank you. That's what I did in the end and it seems to have worked well. I'm just always wary of exporting and importing. Do you know where the contacts are saved?

            /home/anna/.local/share/evolution/addressbook/system/contacts.db

            That is there, maybe somme differences in the database structure.

            You can use seabass2 to open that file and see what's inside now.

              @keneda Thank you! Strangely, I tried it again and it worked. The only thing I did differently this time was to create a small contacts.db (mine is 1.8 MB so I thought that the size might be the problem), move it into the directory and after a restart the contacts were shown. Then I deleted it, moved my 1.8 MB contacts.db into the directory and it worked. I have no idea why. I don't think my antics with the smaller file had anything to do with it. Anyway, thank you: Without your insistence that the contacts are saved in contacts.db I would not have tried it again.
