      @flohack This came up in the Spanish group recently. Seems you need to do some commandline fu to get it to work.

      (Sorry for the graphic, is all I could find from on the phone)

        @arubislander Correct. I have updated the installation guide a few days ago:

          @stanwood
          Maybe you should copy this post and make a sticked thread "How to install waydroid".
          So that's easier to find it, outside a veryyyyy long, not really related, thread.

            @keneda I think there's already such a sticky thread, which links to the installation guide in the WayDroid section:

            https://forums.ubports.com/topic/7166/waydroid-docs-and-groups

            Is this good enough?

              @stanwood
              I could be better ^^

              For instance the title could be "WayDroid install and support Docs And Groups".

              And the link to your post more clearly tagged as install process tuto.

                @keneda Maybe @Lakotaubp could change the name of the sticky thread as you describe?

                Should we move the installation guide in this section, or in the official documentation of UBports? (Although this guide is not official)

                Btw, the thread "Open Ubuntu Touch to all Android applications !" has been created by Rudi, I don't know if I can change the name of this (?)

                  @stanwood Let's not change Rudi's post it has been there sometime now and might cause confusion. What might be better is for you to write a new Waydroid install post that covers all the in's and outs as in Rudi's post. I can then pin that so it remains at the top, easy to find and clear for info. You can then add to it or edit as you please. Just add a note to say not to comment in that thread but open new issues as normal.
                  What do you think.

                    @lakotaubp Ok, right. By the way let's wait 20.04 release as there will may be some changes (I guess). And then let's see if a brand new installation doc is required.

                    Unfortunately I don't have any WayDroid device compatible at the moment (only my old Nexus 5). I will try to get one next year as I prefer to test myself stuffs before to publish incorrect informations. πŸ˜‰

                      I did not talk about Rudi's thread to change anything, but this one https://forums.ubports.com/topic/7166/waydroid-docs-and-groups

                        FYI I made this PR https://github.com/Aarontheissueguy/WaydroidHelper/pull/24 to mitigate issues with outdated Wydroid packages in the future. My Pixel 2 issue was simply that I installed Waydroid during a timeframe where it was kinda broken, but to fix it a manual intervention was necessary.

                        I hope when this PR is merged we will simply tell users to uninstall/reinstall Waydroid and all is fine. And there might be more users out there that have a broken install right now
