      Merry Christmas from UBports

      We have some very special news! Ubuntu Touch 20.04 Focal Fossa now has a beta Release Candidate update channel. To give it a trry, use the UBports Installer... or if you're already using 20.04 Devel, change channels as normal.

        Seems that for the Volla, whereas i am on 16.04 yet, maybe some other phones too, 20.04 RC is also in system parameters :

          @domubpkm Yes noticed that one after the event. It is the bottom RC version available on 20.04 compatible devices.

            @lakotaubp might be slightly confusing. As people might inadvertently switch to 20.04 from 16.04, or (as happened to me) inadvertently switch back from 20.04 to 16.04.
            But on the other hand, it does give the opportunity to easily switch back and forth without having to go through the installer.

              @arubislander Yes needs to be clearer for the future, but ws not aware in advance it would not be in the hidden channels.
              Advice for now bottom of the list RC is 20.04

                @lakotaubp ... in the list of system settings, Candidate 20.04 should be noticed 'Candidate 20.04' not Candidate only as i am currently in RC 16.04.. But, as i saw Candidate v1, i thought it was for 20.04 πŸ™‚

                  @domubpkm Yes as said it needs making clearer. The devs are aware. Wrong time of year for a quick fix but lets see.

                    @ubportsnews Merry Xmas to all!

                    How can you trust that an app really won't send some company your location data, when you tell it not to? The only way you can trust a program not to do something it isn't supposed to do is if it is free software. ~ RMS

                      Merry Christmas to all!

                      I've got one question though: on my FP3+, I only have 3 options on the channels. Development, Release Candidate and Stable. I'm in RC already but still have 16.04. If I check the updates, it says I'm on the latest version.

                      Does this mean I need to use the installer instead?
