Yeah, that's very different. Xiaomi devices are a bit of a pain to unlock: they require a specific tool that only runs on Windows, there is a waiting time, and you need to register with your phone number, as far as I know.

@moem there is also a comunity made linux and macos tool and it is called: XiaoMiTool V2 (it is even a gui)
i discoverd it when i was searching how to unlock the phone -

That is good information for those interested in getting a Xiaomi device. Thanks! :thumbs_up_light_skin_tone:

@moem it would be nice if there would be a disclaimer on the ubports site for the xiaomi poco x3 nfc
-
@hannescam A disclaimer saying what?
-
@moem a disclaimer saying that there is a wait time to unlock the bootloader
-
@hannescam That is a general Xiaomi thing, and I don't think it's UBports' job to warn for that.
-
@moem i can understand that but i have another question:
can i use the phone with android in the waiting period -

I don't know for sure... after all I've never even held a Xiaomi in my hands. But I don't see a reason why not. I think people generally do that.
-
@moem i will try it should arrive today or tomorrow
-
@hannescam i can use it while in the waiting period
and i i wonder if it would be possible to unlock it without waiting -
