A friend of mine gave me his Pixel 3aXL. It has UBPorts Ubuntu Touch installed on it. He didn't give me his password. Not sure if he remembers his password. I'm trying to reset UBPorts Ubuntu Touch so I can use it. Thanks šŸ™‚

@elcaset You could try a clean install from a PC making sure you tick the 'wipe user data' option to remove your friend's data. Once loaded you can start it up and set your own password.

I concur, it is the quickest and easiest, if not the only way to do this.

            I have too many devices...

@Ian Thanks for the reply. Can I use the UBPorts Installer? It seems to require a specific version of Android to be installed on the phone, & I can't do that, as Ubuntu Touch is installed, & I don't have the password. Do I need to use some other method of re-installing Ubuntu Touch, & if so, what method? Thanks šŸ™‚

@elcaset You can usually use the installer to overwrite an existing installation of Ubuntu Touch. The thing about having the correct version of Android is mostly a way to make sure the partition setup is as the installer expects it; on an already installed UT, that should be fine.

                Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

It is also about having the correct hardware "drivers" šŸ˜‰

@elcaset Yes, use the installer but make sure you tick the option to wipe data to remove all your friends stuff. As was mentioned above you don't need to reload the stock android for your device if it already has UT on it.

Sometimes things go a bit.'off' with UT and you may notice some 'strange behaviour'. Quite often a reinstall without the wipe option cures the problem.... and maintains your precious data.

Welcome to the wonderful world of UT. Enjoy☺
