      Hi,
I might do something wrong because I can't manage to use the UT terminal.
Each command line throws me an error. For instance : phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ sudo apt update [sudo] password for phablet: Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait E: Le rΓ©pertoire /var/lib/apt/lists/partial pour les listes n'existe pas. - Acquire (30: Read-only file system)

        Hi
        @AmauryDBZ
Please, don't use the terminal to update your phone.
Apt doesn't work on Ubuntu touch.
Ubuntu Touch have a read only system compared to other OS:s.
We use OTA=Over The Air updates.
        Updates are done through Settings/Updates.
There you are able to choose witch channel to get updates from by tapping the little cogwheel up in the right corner.
The channels to choose from is:
20.04 Stable, gets updates on a monthly cycle, but it could take longer.
20.04 Release candidate, gets updates once very week or so.
20.04 Development, gets updates almost every day. It is considered an unstable environment to dwell in. You use this channel on your own risk. If something would break, just reinstall your phone with the Ubports installer, untick Wipe and Bootstrap.

it sure is not. The terminal can be used for way more than just running apt commands.
You can use it to edit configuration files and .desktop files. You can use it to create and manage Liberitne containers. You can use it to connect to servers and other machines via ssh. And so much more.

But if you never need to do any of that, then, maybe yes, there would be no need for a Terminal app for your use case. It surely should not be, nor is it necessary to use it for any typical day to day tasks on your device. But it is very useful for accessing the 'underlying Linux' of you UT device

@AmauryDBZ Not sure if you're new to the terminal or Linux in general but the terminal has a lot more use than using apt to install things πŸ˜„

@arubislander @kugiigi @Keneda Thank you for your answers.
The fact is that I'm new to UT and mostly a 'graphical' user of Ubuntu. I don't know much about Linux commands so I'm testing what I'm used to...
For the moment I'm testing UT as main device (maybe not the more efficient way) to see if I revert to Android or not.
