When i open up Telegram app, i cant seem to acess password. Whenever i open telegram app, it opens up without me having to enter any passcode.
I will be changing telephone in next week, but i will keep the same number.
How can i keep my account and all my contacts?
Do i simply download telegram app on new phone,
or will i need password to log in and to keep using same account on new device?

@Andrej1299 The best test you can do is to download Telegram on the desktop and see what it asks you.

If you haven't touched anything special they will send you a code in the other Telegram or by SMS. If so you don't need any password and you won't have any problems.

P.S. Or you can download this and log in to this application. https://open-store.io/app/mywebtelegram.josele13

            Hi @Andrej1299

Telegram will ask on the new device to register with your phone number.
Then it will send a code that you'll have to enter.

So as Bolly said, it's best to set your new phone first.
What I do is set everything using WIFI, install the app and configure everything.
Create a backup or transfer data to your new device (if they both run Focal)
Then when everything is working on the new device, I switch SIM on a weekend, so I have time to mess things around if the mobile network does not work out of the box.
Test everything out and you should be golden.
