        Hi!

        Does anybody here have recent experience with UT 20.04 on F(x)tec Pro1-X? Is it stable (calls, sms, mobile data, WiFi)? Does the keyboard work properly? What about the battery life compared to Android 11? Is it worth replacing Android 11 with UT on this device, or if I would like to use linux related things on the phone should I stay and use Termux on Android?

        Thanks!

          @qnx_guy I can't comment much about mobile related things since I don't have a sim on mine. The UT port for this device is decent. I can't say it's great. It has some quirks and the performance and battery leaves much to be desired. Keyboard works fine though. Backlight even started to work fairly recently. In any case, if your main use is the terminal, Ubuntu Touch in general isn't ideal for traditional Linux desktop use. System is read-only and OTA updates would remove your system changes. If you just need to access other devices from the terminal then it's totally fine.

            @kugiigi Thanks! Read-only fs is not a problem (although "sudo mount -o remount,rw /" might solve it like on my Nexus 5 running UT :D), but I would especially use it to create and run bash, python etc. scripts.

            Have you tried to connect/share display wirelessly, does it work?

              @qnx_guy I've only got it to work once but it wasn't a good experience. Honestly, even on other devices and OS, wireless display/miracast isn't a good experience for interactive usage, it's mostly just for consuming media.

                @qnx_guy I can confirm that UT on f(x)tec Pro1-X is very stable, and battery life is good. Yes the keyboard works fine. The only tiny weakness I have found is that the mobile telephony receiver is not quite as “sensitive” about picking up a 4G signal as my other phone, a OnePlus 6T. (But it does pick up 4G, it's not a fault.) In all other respects, the Pro1-X is impressive.

                I haven't tried casting to an external monitor.

                  @ancientsounds said in UT on F(x)tec Pro1-X:

                  From I was told, the change in hardware impacted this feature.
                  So no display port over USB type C...

                  Also, what I know is that it doesn't work.
