@dtarrant I think the site you mean is https://librivox.org/

@dtarrant said in LibriFox Audio Book Reader:

What I want to do is to delete the odd chapters already downloaded prior to downloading the complete book. I realised that I can delete the app and start from scratch, but I wondered if there might be a better way.

I remember there was something like tweak utility where you could delete share/cache of apps without uninstalling them. Maybe that helps?

@advocatux Yes, agreed. As a matter of fact I am caused much grief by the keyboard autocorrect function. Mostly I type what I wish to say and it changes it to something else. It is a complete waste of time. I wish I could turn it off. The worst is when I try to type a Linux file path. That's a real struggle. Am I the only one who hates autocorrect? I spent years learning to spell and I don't really need unintelligent computer help. Anyhow thanks for pointing the error out. Clearly my proof reading leaves much to be desired.

@doniks Thanks for the suggestion. I'll investigate that idea.

@dtarrant why you don't use the FileManager? It's perfect for that.

Edit to add, just in case you don't use FileManager usually, you have to authenticate in that app, and then on the upper right side, press to show a menu and check "show hidden files". Then go to the file you want to delete, hold your finger pressing the file, and a options menu appears. Press "delete" there.

@dtarrant Deep joy! My son has just pointed out that it's possible to turn off autocorrect from within System Settings, Language and Text.

@advocatux Well I am able to use the file manager to access hidden files and delete them. The problem is that I don't understand which files are which within the librifox folder. They don't appear to be intended to be manipulated by a mere user.

Hi @dtarrant. Why not try what doniks suggested? Download UT Tweak Tool. Then, select "Apps Scope" from the Menu at the top Right. Find the Book Reader app, and under "General" you should be able to clear the cache.

@3arn0wl Great, that did it! I used UB Tweak to clear the librifox app data and it worked like a charm. Thanks to everyone for all your suggestions.

@3arn0wl After deleting the odd few chapters with UB Tweak, I pressed "Download All Chapters“. Nothing happened. Further investigation revealed that this is a known librifox problem. Doh!

🙂 So pleased to hear that UT Tweak Tool worked, @dtarrant. I'm sorry that you've run into another problem though. 😕
