        Hi @vince-vs

The website has been recently updated.
        If you go to https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/promoted/
You'll find the promoted and recommended devices for the regular users who desire a fully featured device.

Spoiler ; this page will soon be updated with a new device that has a successful campaign...

The end user is always a focus for the system development.
The porting aspect is a more complex topic.
Porters work on devices they have and wish to be ported.
The foundation tries to make partnerships with manufacturers like Pine64, Volla and more to bring Ubuntu Touch to a larger user base and people who cannot afford or find our current promoted devices.

You have to understand that the porting aspect is a difficult problem to solve.
Maintaining the OS is also difficult but because it's a constant effort to keep up with the world. We don't have enough resources to work on new features.

To make it short: the OP5T will still be supported in the future, since I am involved in the port.
Just need to figure out, why it was removed in the list of supported devices, maybe because of inactivity/no progress in the last year...

            Devices: BQ e4.5, Fairphone 2, Fairphone 3, Lenovo X605F, Pinephone, Moto Z2 Force, OnePlus5T

Hurray! happily waves OP5t in the air
It's such a nice device. I'm very glad that we don't have to worry about it losing support. Thank you!

@Luksus Good to know that is the case, and yes the inactivity will produce that result as mentioned in the blog for the new devices page Easily reversed though : )

to make it clear the short answer is: yes, a device that has reached the stage "Advanced Support" will be demoted to "Basic Support" when there is no activity for 6 months, if there is no further activity for another 6 months the device is removed from the list

support in this case means: someone is activity fixing issues on the device
Activity is the activity in the device repository

Luksus, can I ask you to please take action on this? It makes me so sad to see my phone sit there looking as if it's abandoned. It would be appreciated.

@Moem The thing is... we currently have one port (official one), based on the "full-system-image" build, and a second one based one the "standalone-kernel" method.
The second one, is the one we want to support further. But we somehow need to do a migration, from the first to the second port...

Currently, the plan is to make it available with UT 24.04.
But I am still not sure, how that will work.

@messayisto both ports are targeting both device version, so the OPO5 is still part of the show.

@Luksus Ah, thank you for explaining. So, as I understand it, there is work to be done before the Op5(t) can be moved forwards to Noble.
