Today i tried setting up emulationstation and retorarch on Fairphone 4 running UbuntuTouch 20.04 OTA-5

        Everything is setup inside libertine

        Working:

        • NES,SNES,GB,GBA and also N64 but laggy
        • USB Gamepad

        Not working:

        • audio as i am launching emulationstation and games in libertine fakeroot and pulseaudio is only available in userspace

some pictures for setup in action-

@uxes audio is not working when i use fakeroot and due to some reason emulator crash in normal user mode.
Normal user mode audio is fine

Of course there will be lot of interest for such an app on the open store 😬

Perhaps they have a snap version? Or maybe they can be packaged as click and run on Wayland šŸ˜„
Not sure how much effort that would be though. Someone persevered and got Supertux to work again so maybe with enough will? šŸ˜„

@bearbobs You use the tool called clickable. I only rely on that and doesn't really know much about packaging and building stuffs so that's all help I can give šŸ˜„
Like I said, someone got Supertux working again so perhaps you can do too. I don't have the repo of it though.

@bearbobs did you ever get to make this a click?....audio is out of the box with permission should be bake to enable USB as well.....I'm struggling to open roms externally so I slapped them all in the app for the nes....while I wont/cant do this with this.....I'm all about making it a clickable....does it have built in touch support?..if not maybe I can add that....the nes I'm doing was originally not touch also added maooers and imroved the audio....needs tons of work.....but if I ca do the same with yours would be better

@developerbayman Unfortunately i didn't get time to make it a click, but for me literally everything worked from opening roms and also fullscreen.

If you have time I think making a click out of it will be better investment of time and also as retro arch as touch support by default you will be able see touch controls as well

@bearbobs sorry for the late reply its been busy with work...did you have to host the emulationstation?....because not sure how to host from within a clickable.....Iv seen the project before but have not really done anything with it....if it runs totally client side its do able....but if it needs hosting I don't think it can be done....the nes I'm working on is a heavily modded JavaScript emulator runs totally client side i added touch support fixed up the audio and added a lot of mapper support.....one big issue is the webview out of the box is....well lacking...if you load mario you will see black squares around the clouds and other sprites...not the emulator but the webview....
