      Hi people.
I wonder what will be the future (and present) of conectivity with wereables like smart watches.

I know that we have a rockwork to connect with pebble smartwatches, but i don't know if this will continue since pebble was bought by fitbit.

I also wonder if there will be easy to use more wereables connected to our phones because of confinement...

One week ago I bought myself a pebble time round and connected it with rockwork. Runs like charme, I am more than happy.

Previously I ashed the developper about sustainability of configuration and he pointed me to rebble.io

But anyway you are right. Future of pebble is not clear and other waerables are not appreciate supported atm as far as I know.

          Hello guys,

Any of you is using a smart watch or a running activity tracker synchronized with his ubuntu touch smartphone and ubuntu computer?
I'm looking for buying something that can track my runs with GPS and heart rate. I found two software for my ubuntu computer, http://turtlesport.sourceforge.net/EN/home.html and http://www.saring.de/sportstracker/ .
Apparently, specific brand like Garmin, Polar or Suunto are working better with free software than bigger brand like fitbit, nike, samsung, sony or xiaomi stuff but I'm not sure.
I would like to know if you have experience and what you use with your ubuntu touch smartphone and what you recommend.
It's a shame the Connect Watch project couldn't start. So far, no AsteroidOS watches have GPS and heart rate sensor working and they don't have software for ubuntu touch....

          Thanks to all,
          Thatoo

@thatoo I think a syncronization app (like this one on android) is needed in UT in order to communicate with an AsteroidOS.
so probably the problem is not only that they don't have software for ubuntu touch but that we don't have software for them 😛

I’ve been using the Suunto Run recently, and it’s been solid for GPS tracking and heart rate during my runs. It also works nicely with third-party apps, so you’re not locked into a single ecosystem like some of the bigger brands.

Haven’t tried it directly with Ubuntu Touch yet, but I’d imagine it could pair through the usual Bluetooth connection. Has anyone here tested a Suunto device on Ubuntu? Would be cool to know how well it syncs.

We can safely assume it won't sync at all since there is no matching companion app for Ubuntu Touch.

                Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.
