        Hello all.
I just reinstalled osmscout on my Bq e4.5 but everytime I navigate to the map screen (to download and select maps), it crashes. Any idea why this happens. I tried reinstalling it again and deleting the maps folder from a previous working installation, but it doesn't help. I really like this gps program because it allows offline routing.
        Thanks
        Thomas

@tominto what UT version is running in your phone? What stops working to need a reinstall? Have you checked the logs?

@advocatux It's running ubuntu 15.04 (r3). osmscout was working up until very recently. I'm not sure what the problem is. I tried reinstalling osmscout to see if it would do anything. How do I check the logs?

            Thanks for your help

@tominto The easiest way is to install logviewer from the Appstore. There is an post on howto use logviewer in the News section of this forum ( dated April 6).

@tominto I asked about the UT version because many apps compiled for 15.04 doesn't run in 16.04.

As @Lakota says, logviewer is the easier way to check logs. See this tutorial https://ubports.com/blog/ubports-blog-1/post/logviewer-102

Unfortunately OSMScout looks like an abandoned project (*), so even if you find a bug it probably won't be fixed but it's good to report it just in case someone takes on that app development.

I just installed logviewer, and ran osmscout again. Having a quick look at the logs, I can see an entry that apparmor is denied. Could this be the problem?

@tominto you can post your logs in pastebin using Logviewer if you want that someone else can take a look at them. Of course, you also need to post the link here.

No, apparmor denied is not the problem.

@advocatux I thought it might be this?

@tominto do you have the crash logs?

@advocatux I'm still trying to figure this out. Where do I find crash logs?

                              Loviewer seems to be set for /home/phablet/.cache/upstart/, filtering by *.log. Ubuntu logs it displays are;

                              android-usb-state.log
                              application-click-logviewer.neothethird-logviewer_1.1.log
dbus.log (where I found reference to osmscout and apparmor)
                              media-hub.log
                              mtp-server.log
                              scope-registry.log
                              smart-scopes-proxy.log
                              ubuntu-location-service-trust-stored.log
                              ubuntu-push-client.log
                              unity8-dash.log
                              unity8.log

Should I post the output from each of these logs?

@tominto have you read the tutorial I linked above (https://ubports.com/blog/ubports-blog-1/post/logviewer-102)? There is the answer to your question and, more important, how to generate proper logs.
