@kristatos My provider is Vodafone, which has no special features. The settings are identical to those of my other email programs.
-
My email provider requires TSL encryption. Is this possible with dekko? Has anyone been able to set up dekko with Vodafone?

did you mean TLS encryption ? if yes, world+dog supports TLS, so any recent mail agent will support it.
-
@gpatel-fr Yes, I meant TLS encryption. I'm still looking for the reason why dekko isn't working (I've already tried all the settings ...).

I got intrigued, downloaded Dekko and tried to set it with a vanilla imap account, one that I have indeed used with several other setups and it got stuck on the connection information validation.
If it's the same for you, maybe you could open an issue athttps://gitlab.com/dekkan/dekko/-/issues
because it looks suspiciously like a recently closed issue whose fix did not seem to be clearly understood. Maybe it was not really completely fixed ?
-
@gpatel-fr Thank you for your effort! Unfortunately I don't have a gitlab account to report the issue.
-
a gitlab account can be created for free, all that is needed is a mail address to get the account confirmed.
-
Err, actually, I had closed the app without mercy while the validation was still spinning, I have opened it again today and... lo and behold ! all the mails were displayed. So it was just a problem of initial setup not validating for some (bad...) reason, while all parameters were correct.

C CiberSheep moved this topic from App Development
-
@gpatel-fr Unfortunately that didn't work for me.
- Was the app open or closed?
- Was background suspension disabled?
- Did you have an internet connection (wifi or mobile)?
- Reboot?
Thanks
-
the application was not open in the background as far as I know.
I did not configure anything for the app with TweakUT, I left the default value.
As far as I remember, when all of this was happening I was connected via wifi.
Restart: I stop the phone every day.what I see looks very much like existing issues #179 and #183.
BTW whatever your problem is (you never described it), you can turn on debugging after installing dekko, starting it and closing it before setting up ,your account, go to the config directory under ~/.config/dekko2.dekkoproject and turn on debugging according to this procedure.
