May be the wrong thread section to post this but...

Is there really no reliable Email Application for UT? Dekko used to work for both my Gmail email account and another one but as of lately i havent been able to send / receive or even set them up within Dekko?

I see that there are webapps for Gmail and other providers but im looking for more of a client, like Thunderbird or K-9 mail?

        Thanks!

Dekko is the only mail client for UT and it's been a very long time since there was an update and I don't know to what extent there is still only maintenance. Only a smartphone supporting Waydroid (android under UT) can currently eventually support other mail clients.

Has anyone managed to get AOL email to work with Dekko or Dekko2?

I read that GMAIL, ICLOUD, YAHOO works, but not sure if this applies to year 2026. Otherwise, Morph browser has to be used to connect to the web interface.

Email is one of those things that is a priority for many and people seem to prefer an app for email reading. Android has Gmail email reader, there is also Thunderbird email client, Apple has its own email app for icloud. So I guess that newbies on Ubuntu will look for an email app like Gmail or Thunderbird from the android experience. I am sure there are divided opinions on that too.

as far as I know Dekko2 is the only local client for UT. I don't use it but I tested it and with a few wrinkles (see issue) it seems to work. I don't see why Aol mail should be a problem since it seems to work with Imap/smtp.
