Attention!! Attention!! BIG NEWS !!!!!!!

@lakotaubp If you install the rc without the wipe option you need to re-download the open-store click compatible with xenial using the browser: https://open-store.io/app/openstore.openstore-team
Then manually install the .click using the Terminal: pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted path_of_the_downloaded_click.click
After that you will have the correct compatible OpenStore for xenial. You can now update the current 15.04 (vivid apps) like the Image Gallery, re-download Telegram version compatible for xenial, Calendar, Calculator, etc. So installing the xenial version of the OpenStore app is CRUCIAL for those who didn't install 16.04rc with wipe.

@malditobastardo thank you for your reply. I knew there would be a answer out there just ran out of time for today. This is my first venture into 16.04 so knew I'd have a lot of missing info to catch up on. so that should be then
pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted home_phablet_downloads_openstore.openstore-team_2.40_armhf.clickedit : or use utweaktool to install it which worked for me
edit edit: much better now all ok except dekko2 won't open which I know still needs work although notifications still come through and calendar keeps crashing
Bq 5 install with wipe calendar still crashes will look inti further later. then bug report if required -
@lakotaubp You are welcome! Well actually the correct command was: pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted home/phablet/downloads/openstore.openstore-team_2.40_armhf.click , using " / " to define the path.
Glad you made it with the tweak tool, I forgot about it.
1-Yes, the calendar needs to be fixed.
2-Dekko2 needs to be updated for Xenial
3-The scroll "momentum" is missing
... but they are getting there -
@malditobastardo Yes overall its been very enjoyable so far. One thing that has impressed me is the UBports installer. I've switched from device to device back and forward between 15.04 and 16.04 and its worked perfectly. First time I've needed to use it and on windows 10 too. My linux machines are to old. Very impressed with it.
Thanks for correcting that bit stuff for me. -
From my experience it would be more sane to wipe the device before you switch from 15.04 to 16.04. There can be too much old settings or cached data which may impact the behavior of the device. For my M10FHD it was necessary to have the device fully running. But then it's amazing.
-
Media player does not work as should be on my m10fhd. Cannot open any media files stored locally.
-
@tihoto What is exactly happening to you?
-
@malditobastardo I am trying to open .mp4 video file stored locally then choosing Media player and then I get a message to choose a file to open (just for a second) and nothing. If I try from Media player to choose the file to open I do not have an option to choose a file from the File explorer for example. Only a choice from Browser etc. but not from the local store. So generally does not work for me, unfortunately.
-
@tihoto have you tried UTmedia?
-
@advocatux Yes, I did. But with UTmedia when I try to select a file the only options to choose from are: Browser, Camera, Gallery, Music and Contacts. Again I do not have an option to select from an internal store.
-
@tihoto are you on devel channel? There's a bug with filemanager and content-hub
-
@advocatux I am trying the 16.04 RC
-
@tihoto then that's why filemanager isn't working, probably because it's still a .deb package so .click hooks aren't executed
-
@advocatux Thanks. Looking forward to be fixed soon.
