@janmv you can always contact the admin directly. I'm sure he wants to help normal users who want to use the bridge. I also asked about the whatsapp bridge. (don't forget to donate, it's a great service 😉)

@janmv I joined their matrix community room at https://matrix.to/#/#tchncs:tchncs.de. Sadly recently a lot talk about spam protection, but that is where I asked and learned about that. I confirm, a friendly admin - unless your a spammer. 😀

Cinny 2.1.3 (probably from open store back then) stopped working on my Xiaomi Mi A2 (Xenial 16.04 OTA-25). During app startup very briefly 'Looking for home server... Connecting to https://matrix-client.matrix.org...' then black app screen.

Is there eventually a newer version as click package available for my device? Any other idea, how to get Cinny back up and running again?

I would recommend starting a new topic. This topic is probably only interesting to people who use Signal. Not others who may also use Cinny.

@Moem thanks, probably was not clear, as I use Cinny exactly for that purpose, discussed in this threat, i.e. to access Signal via the bridge.

@mschmids I understand but this does not seem to be a problem with the bridge. It sounds like a Cinny problem, not like a Signal or bridge problem.

@mschmids Better try cinny-ut from OpenStore, which is a much newer version.

Oh, sorry, just saw that you are still on xenial. There is no xenial version of cinny-ut and there will not be one (at least not done by me).

Thank you @danfro for taking your time. I tend to believe, that I did install the Cinny version 2.1.3, which was working perfectly fine until a couple of days ago, from the open store beginning this year, when this thread was started.
