            Just wanted to mention that I discovered recently that it is possible to use signal on Ubports, through the app "molly FOSS" in waydroid, that can be linked as a secondary device to your main acount. It works pretty smoothly (although you don't get notifications for new messages) and it is even possible to do video calls with it which is beyond expectations. Of course end to end encryption is preserved.

              @pparent Good addition! I had no idea Molly could be used as a secondary client, I've only ever used it as a primary client. Thanks for mentioning it.

                The Signal gateway for XMPP is also working again, in case someone prefers that.

                Fairphone 5 (Not yet installed UT on it though)

                  Hi, just want to let you know, that I managed to make the newer Cinny version to work with our old morph Webengine. This took downgrading of matrix-dsk and some patching. The RC for Cinny UT based on Cinny 4.10.0 can be downloaded here https://github.com/Danfro/cinny-ut/releases.
                  I made releases for focal (.1RC) and for noble (.nRC).

                  Here it seems to work fine, please let me know if you hit any new issues. I know, we still have plenty of old issues.

                    @Moem

                    Something completly crazy happened today. I figured why not try:

                    sudo snap install signal-desktop

                    This crazy it just works! The interface is not responsive or adapted to mobile for now, and the keyboard does not show up, but it just works!! I can see my chats

                    It certainly means that we would easily adapt it to run properly on Ubuntu Touch!

                      Wow, that is promising!

                          Just wanted to mention here, that Signal UT should now be a usable client for basic chatting, and will keep improving in the coming 2-3 month:
