How I'm now using Signal on UT
-
@wally Correct, Cinny does work on focal very well. But right now, we will not have newer Cinny features.
If I find some time, I will try to do some UT-only bug fixes. And I will keep trying to look into making the newer version to work on UT.

@mschmids Since some changes in mattix sdk cause the problems, it may well be that element web faces the same issues as cinny, because it likey uses that as well. Just a guess, though.

Just to follow-up on the original post (@Moem, @danfro): the Signal bridge bot at tchncs.de currently works again
. They managed to block the spam.
A single addition. The Signal bridge bot replies with a QR-code and a sgnl://-URL. My primary Signal device had some trouble scanning the QR-code - it got picked up as I was just about to give up.
I suppose the URL can also be used for linking the devices, so if anyone has done that successfully, it may be worth posting here. -

Signal bridge seems to be down...

@CiberSheep since about more than 12 hours now...

Matrix is having massive issues and are rebuilding their database from backups. If the bridge is dependent on Matrix.org servers in any way that could be the cause.

@Ida_ thanks for clarifying!

On a more general note: I would advise to use the tchncs server, rather than Matrix.org. In my experience it's much more stable, faster and you don't have problems with the bridge-server communication if you use the tchncs bridge as well
