Running Waydroid fails...
-
Volla Phone X23 (20.04 OTA-8 Stable)
I installed Waydroid with the Waydroid Helper App.
When I try to launch Waydroid, I see the Waydroid icon and a circle beneath it spinning forever.LogViewer says:
Failed to get service waydroidplatform, trying again...What can I do about that?
-
@jojumaxx According to the devices page Waydroid does not work to some extent on this device.
-
Do you mean this list?
Since Waydroid runs on the Quintus, which also is not on the list I was hoping this issue might be a simple one to resolve.
Then the X23 is the only Volla Phone Waydroid doesn't run on.
I'll have to wait then for further support of Halium versions...Thanks!

@jojumaxx I am assuming the list is up to date. If you have reason to believe otherwise then it might be best to wait for someone else with this device to chime in.

@arubislander No I don't think it's outdated. Probably it's just luck that it works on the Quintus as an unsupported device...
I was just hoping, it's a simple to solve config issue.
But searching the net shows, that hardly anyone solved this due to it probably is a running environment issue and thus simply unsupported, as the list says. -
Hi

I sense that you're not talking about the same list.
@arubislander was probably referring to this one: https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/vidofnir/The "waydroid" feature is shown as: Partial = Working to some extent but with issues
Clicking on this link leads to the actual issue. And it's the same as the Quintus.

But wait, there's more; this issue is not really one, but instead it's a workaround made by Jami in order to setup waydroid on both devices (Volla X23 and Quintus)...And I hope that this is the answer you were looking for.
