        We've just released the RC image for the Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-10. Please take some time to switch your spare/development phone to the 20.04 RC channel and test this OTA.

        Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-10 is a maintenance release with only a minimal number of changes. The most notable change in Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-10 is the inclusion of the new upgrader, allowing users to upgrade to Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.0 with ease once it comes out.

        In addition, there are a number of general bug fixes and security updates, including QtWebEngine update to the latest patch release in 5.15 series (sadly still based on Chromium 87).

        Please note that only critical and security fixes will be able to enter Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-10 as this point. Normal bug fixes and new features will need to wait for our next release. Please do not discuss normal bug fixes and new features here.

        Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-10 is expected to be released on 14 August 2025. We appreciate all testing we will receive.

        If, however, you're interested in testing the next version of Ubuntu Touch based on Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.0 Beta 1 is now also available for testing.

          @peat_psuwit Can it be that the servers are overloaded? Everybody is heading to get the new version(s) 😊

            Not sure if it's a coincidence but battery life seems really to have taken a hit on this RC! I'm on Oneplus 5t.

            Is currently using an Op5t
            Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

              I did the upgrade. It went rather smoothly following the instructions.
              Most things seem to still be working with the following exceptions [I'll add to the list as I find issues];

              • sometimes the keyboard for the login password prompt jumps up and down very rapidly. I need to force reboot the phone and then it seems to be OK.
              • Many apps no longer start.

                @RJDan This topic is for testing 20.04 OTA 10. Sounds like you've upgraded to 24.04. There's a separate topic for 24.04.

                I think apps not opening makes sense. Not all will work out of box on 24.04, and will require action by the app developer.
                If you've gone to 24.04 without intending to, maybe wait for somebody more knowledgeable than me to suggest how to go back. I thiiink you should just be able to flash 20.04 Stable / RC without erasing data and that should be fine? But I'm not sure.

                  It should be yes. At least I have been going back and forth for a while in that way.

                  It is not supported, not guaranteed to work. But in my experience, at least at this stage, it does work.
