        Hi folks,

I have a oneplus5t and after a recent update the on screen keyboard doesn't appear to allow me to login.

Is there anything I can do to trigger it to appear?

        Can I update over ad?

I would rather not reflash my device and wipe everything...

You may need to reflash but that does not mean wipe everything. If you make sure to uncheck the 'Wipe User Data' box in the installer, your data will be kept.

            Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

We had a bug on a recent 24.04-2.x
If you can connect with adb shell or ssh

sudo mount -t tmpfs none /var/cache/apt
sudo mount -t tmpfs none /var/lib/apt
                    sudo apt update
                    sudo apt install maliit-inputcontext-qt5

Otherwise, you could as Moem have suggested use the installer and install a fresh UT (don't check wipe data or partitionning).

thanks for your help @vlad-nirky and @moem. I tried to adb-shell but couldn't verify the device so used the installer to update. Everything is working now, and I haven't lost any data or settings.

                        Much appreciated!

For a next time, to verifiy the device, you must enable developper mode in system settings / System information.
Connect the usb. Accept the connection on the phone.
adb devices must show you your phone.
