External Display FP5
-
I tried all kind of USB-C hubs, none seems to work. I get different behaviors, but the main one is that it detects the external display, changes mode, so the phone becomes a mouse pad and keyboard, while the display then turns into power saving, because it has no signal. For now it seems I can workaround the issue using mira cast, but I would prefer to have the ability to connect an external display directly via USB-C. Can anyone recommend a working USB-C Hub?
Apart from this, is there any chance the issue is solved in the future?

Do you have any other device you can test your device? Adapters and hubs that works on laptops, gaming handhelds, other phones should work on the Fairphone 5.
Can you reflash Android and test there? It might be a hardware issue. -
Have you considered it may be the monitor? I have a Lenovo portable monitor and I've connected it to a friend's FP5, and it 'just worked'.

I have a mac laptop, works perfectly fine via USB-C on each of these adapters.

Does Android 15 on FP5 support external displays somehow? If yes, I can try to flash back Android 15, 14 or 13 and test. Maybe the hardware has issues, it is a used phone. That is why I wanted to know, if there is some USB-C Hub that is known to work well, maybe something that can be bought easily, i.e. from UGREEN or alike.

you don't say which version of Ubuntu Touch you use.
It has been reported that last update to 24.04-1.2 broke something in USB mode changing, maybe your problem could be related ? @slowcyclist
