24.04-2.x how does it work at this point for you ?

@gpatel-fr I'm talking about flashing os easily, non-technical user friendly. The aim of UT installer.

Both fail the automatic update that occurs after the install when using the installer. Both run out of disk space.
I think I understand now why for some phones the root partition is larger than needed. I had noticed this on my Fairphone 5.

user friendly. The aim of UT installer.
that's a goal yes. You'll see in this thread that is not always effective on the ground. Convoluted indeed.

@gpatel-fr
That depends on the phone model, right?Or is there a way to reset my Oneplus N10 back to a configuration that would let me install 2.x? Ideally without having to reinstall Android.

certainly. Try to use df -m on your phone under 24.04-1.x to see what is the available space. Some phones are said to have a very small rootfs and used almost completely.

well, I think ro remember from a Q&A that there are efforts to allow the instaljer to resize partitions. I have no idea how all of this work.

FP 5 24.04-2.x Daily Using as daily driver, calls all working well. Had problem with screen going dark a week or do back fir a few days but that's been it of late.
For a development build with just daily available it been very stable if that makes sense.
Does still have both versions of Morph showing at present which is a little awkward to use. -
Contact Bridge -> sync error
Dekko 2 -> Forwards emails, but without attachments -
@domubpkm
I read on the Porting Telegram channel that, for many older phones that do not have enough space on the system partition and do not support dynamic partitioning, 24.04-2.x will no longer be available after today until this issue is resolved (if possible).
To continue upgrading to QT6, the system partition must be large enough.
Continuing to provide 24.04-2.x to these phones would prevent them from booting.
Let's cross fingers for these devices (non complete list):- billie
- billie2
- pro1x
- miatoll (mine)
- cheeseburger
- dumpling
- enchilada
- FP3
- sargo
- X605

@Vlad-Nirky what i'm asking if the problem will be the same for 26.04-1.x. for the same phones.. Or if it would be easier for them to jump from 24.04-1.x to 26.04-1.x..
In fact, i don't see why the problem wouldn't be the same.. or not.. -
@Vlad-Nirky Saddest news I heard all week. This would knock a whole bunch of popular devices off the supported devices list.

Not immediately, but still... a well-working default browser is kinda a big deal. -
Dekko 2 -> Forwards emails, but without attachments
I tested this and can confirm it... well, I'm currently on 24.04-1.3 so is this a 24.04-2.x problem ? No it's not.
-
@gpatel-fr
I've now tested it on a device running 1.3 as well.
Attachments aren't being forwarded there either.
So it's not a problem specific to 24.04-2.x. -
it's not a problem specific to 24.04-2.x.
if you care about that, you can add your voice to this issue. Since 6 years it has been opened, there is not a single 'like' button clicked.
-
@gpatel-fr
The issue with attachments not being forwarded only arises once you switch to 24.02.
When you switch back to 1.3, the problem persists.
In that sense, it could very well be an issue that was triggered by the installation of 24.02. -
