      i have been a ubuntu/linux "USER" since the late 90's. a while back i got a nex 4 to check out touch, but then touch was dropped. now i try it on my nex 4 with 16gb and find it almost out of memory, maybe i need to clear lineageos some how to make more space? i did get touch installed but eventually it bricked, so it is back on lineage. question: when i open an app how do i close it. i noticed a bunch of open apps and could not find a way to close them.

        @dr1445 to have a nice experience with UT it has to be the only OS installed on your phone, and it's the only officially supported way.

        You can navigate the open apps swiping from right to left. To close an app you have to swipe up or down that app when on navigating mode.

          @dr1445

          A long swipe from right to left to get list of open apps then swipe up or down app you want to close.

            @advocatux when i install with the ub installer that removes the other roms, correct? if so the nex 4 is bumping the 16gb capacity of the phone. i would have no problem with picking up a nex 5 with 32gb if that is the case. i also have a nex6 with 64gb but it is not yet ported. thanks for your rapid reply.

              @dr1445 yes but it's better to start with an updated stock rom on your phone, that way you'll have the latest firmware, and a known clean base

                @advocatux ; i went into fastboot and did wipe/factory reset. i get 1% memory remaining. it looks like the nex 4 is at it's limit with 16gb. i will order a nex 5 32gb. just curious if there is anyone working on porting the nexus 5x or 6? thanks for all the sage responses.

                  @dr1445 the nexus 4 shouldn't be at its limit with 16GB, so something isn't right. What's the output of df -h?

                  There was an effort to port nexus 5x but the porters found "a lot of weird issues" (quoting their own words) and afaik nobody it's working on it now.

                  About nexus 6, some people started porting it to Halium (first necessary step to then port it to UT) and if you want some more details about it, see https://github.com/Halium/projectmanagement/issues/30

                  Note that the Halium project, generally speaking, seems a bit on hold now.

                        @dr1445 my personal opinion is that's always better to start from the latest official stock rom for your device, that way you also have the latest firmware.

                        BTW that's a very incomplete df -h output. For example this is the output of my BQ E4.5 (8GB) Note I have a 32GB sd card too.

                        phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ df -h

                          @advocatux i flashed the google firmware as suggested and then installed touch. no more "memory filled" messages and now apps will download from the store. i checked the nexus6 link, way over my head. the nexus 4 seems to be working well, many thanks for your time and patience.
