Is there something wrong with my settings, system or has there been no releases for what seems a very long time? Before I was on RC and there was nothing for a few months. Now I have moved one of my devices to the dev channel and still nothing.

Are things going slow with the dev or are we going to get a really hot new release very very soon? I really hope so 🙂

        Hi @UKPhil ,

If you are on the 15.04 channel, then you won't be receiving many (any?) updates as development has shifted to 16.04.

        16.04 dev has daily updates.

16.04 RC was also released, and is almost as functional as 15.04. Some applications still have not made the change, so it may not be ready as a daily driver.

Soon, OTA-4 (16.04 stable) will be released, and should continue receiving updates.

@ukphil I've moved this topic to Support.

15.04 is EOL and all development is done on xenial, as @joe says.

To add to what I answered you here https://forums.ubports.com/post/10172 you can see the xenial devel channel is updated almost daily (http://system-image.ubports.com/ubports-touch/16.04/devel/) and the RC channel, weekly.

If you want to give 16.04 RC a try, you'll need to use the ubports-installer or run on your phone sudo system-image-cli --switch 16.04/rc

Thanks for the updat. I have been in 15.04 (r61). I had no idea that you had to change channel.

I tried to do the sudo system-image-cli --switch 16.04/rc in my terminal but i got the following error messag "exception occured, during updates, see log for details“.

This is in log viewer http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/STDM3Yrdtr/

            Any ideas?

@ukphil what the log says? Anyway, it's better to use the ubports-installer.

You can run it using the wipe option or without it if you want to keep all your data.

Edit: Oh, you edited your post to add the log

Edit2: that log doesn't show anything useful

I have now installed the rc version of 16.04. All looks nice and good, so hopefully I will be able to get updates now. There is a few issues though, which seem like they are on my device. The Telegram app and Dekko app do not seem to be working.

@ukphil Telegram app works fine on xenial but Dekko2 is under development for 16.04 now

@advocatux lol I would disagree that Telegram is all OK as it is not working on both of my devices, but it is working on my wife's tablet?? I know that there are two files that needs to be removed when re-installing Telegram, but I cannot remember where theya re.

@ukphil are you sure you're using the xenial version?
