On Nexus 5 Telegram app isn't working properly. I tap on app, then I receive a code to enter and when I tap on "Sign In" it just keeps looping and does nothing. I'm using 16.04

@markalexa is it the first time registering that phone number or are you trying to log in with an account that already existed?

          Edit: can be this? https://github.com/ubports/telegram-app/issues/193

@markalexa sometimes being logged in on another device or pc/laptop first helps get round this.

@lakotaubp I logged in into Desktop app without a problem but then I tried the app on Ubuntu Touch and it just keeps looping over and over.

@advocatux It's my first attempt to use the app. I like the app 'coz it's built around privacy. I don't trust anything that has anything to do with Facebook.

@markalexa You could try clearing the app cache etc. with UT TweakTool and trying again. Sometimes just trying again and again does work. Just in-case I've added the link below on UT Tweaktool to get you started.

@lakotaubp Clearing up cache worked ! Didn't realise it was so important for the app to function properly. Great ! Now I can use it with my gf. Thanks a ton, mate !

                        Hi,
I have the same problem. Using 16.04 on BQ Aquaris 4.5. The app stopped working after upgrading to 16.04. I deleted the cache but it does not help. I terminated all other sessions via the Telegram Desktop app, too. Any suggestions appreciated πŸ™‚ Thank you

                        Ricki

@rickigonzalez try deleting the app and reinstalling from open store. How did you upgrade to 16.04 was it with the installer? Did you choose wipe option ?

@lakotaubp Hello! Yes I installed it via installer with wipe option on. Reinstalling the app had no effect. Went already back to 15.04 because it's my everyday phone and it needs to be stable

@rickigonzalez OK next time you move( which I would strongly advise as 15.04 is coming to an end and will not get updates) don't use the wipe option. That should keep everything you need and just update the apps. Also don't change anything in your working Telegram on the phone or desktop. See how you go any issues just pop back. Telegram can be tricky you could try tomorrow and login without issue.

@rickigonzalez The 15.04 version of Telegram will not work on 16.04 - you definitely should see an upgrade. Did you run the upgrade wizard correctly after 16.04 booted for the first time?

I made a test build here: https://github.com/ubports/telegram-app/releases/tag/v2.5.5 - Can you please try with this one?
