I have configured in Dekko2 three IMAP accounts and they are working all fine for reading mails. But, in one of these it is not possible to delete mails. The Dekko2 GUI says it does so, but the mail stays in the list of the GUI and in the mailbox on the server. In the log file it looks like this:

I can confirm I have similar problem, but with pop3. The trash seems to be "sticky". I can move items into trash and back out of it, but the inbox view doesn't change and once an item is in trash it "stays" there. Closing the app and restarting doesn't purge trash. So effectively trash isn't separated out from the main flow.

Dan gave the (at least in my case) right hint here: https://gitlab.com/dekkoproject/dekko/issues/110.
Please check if you also have not set the trash directory in the "folders and copies" settings of the account.
Setting them may be a little bit tricky: I had to type the directory manually and hit the mailbox/folder item on the right side afterwards. Then the back button isn't working anymore; close the two dekko windows and stop dekkod by executing stop dekkod on the command line or by rebooting. Afterwards open dekko again and check whether your setting was taken. If not, maybe the directory your typed manually doesn't exist - try another... 😉

The IMAP mbox in question did not have had any folder Trash. I created it and it took me some 5 attempts to convince Dekko2 in the way described in the last post (thanks), that the folder is there and named Trash. Now it shows up with this name in Dekko2 and deletion of mails is working, i.e. moving mail to that folder.

@hummlbach Thanks for this. It seems I've no functionality on the mailbox/folder buttons, so it won't capture any settings I give it. Autodetect seemingly whirls forever and once I interact with anything on the screen, the back button fails. My woes are POP3 related... can't comment re IMAP.

I think too, that the small buttons right of the text fields have no functionality and this would explain why always after stopping dekko2 and dekkod the fields was empty again without the name Trash. At the end I tried to delete a mail and magically it now went to the Trash folder because this was created before now. Do you have with your POP3 this folder?

@guru Yes, I have a Trash folder with POP3, I just rechecked the provider's portal to ensure that's the case. Not really having much joy with this. The logs read fine. When I delete items, they do "go" to the Trash folder, but just don't disappear from the main view. I also don't seem to be able to view emails with images in them. Ah it'll all come out in the wash, I get it that this package is transitional.
