        @Lakotaubp @Opolork

I tried installing TELEports & uText just now. The blue progress bar still goes back and forth. I am online as the Morph web browser works fine.

How can you trust that an app really won't send some company your location data, when you tell it not to? The only way you can trust a program not to do something it isn't supposed to do is if it is free software. ~ RMS

@Opolork what UT version are you running? Which OpenStore app version?

16.04 Stable. I'm not sure how to tell the OpenStore version that I'm on.

Maybe this is connected - in updates there's 1 for Camera. I select update but it fails every time. The error it gives is (not in terminal - this is GUI interface output):

              ProcessError: 0 - ErrorInProgress
              Exit code: 7
              Stdout:
              Stderr:

I'm not sure how to tell the OpenStore version

@Opolork there are several ways to do it. You can open the OpenStore app, search for OpenStore, tap on the OpenStore icon you'll see in the results, and take a look to "Installed version" for example

@Opolork hmm so maybe System Settings updates & OpenStore are having a conflict

That's like inception - install the OpenStore from within the OpenStore. 😆
                    The version is 2.66.

@Opolork Also try to install that camera update from system settings, updates. If you can it's openstore related. If you cant probably need to look elsewhere.

                        The camera update fails.

@Opolork yes, that's the latest. So it seems the issue is between System Settings and OpenStore. You can try to clean System Settings cache, using UT Tweak tool for example, and see if that's enough to disentangle the current situation.

                            I don't have UTT. 😢

Would there be any terminal commands to try? 💭

@Opolork you can install it manually. Download that app (https://open-store.io/app/ut-tweak-tool.sverzegnassi), then open Terminal and run pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted /path/to/the.click

Of course, change /path/to/the.click for the real path in your case 😉

Edit: you can go to the directory you've downloaded that click and then you won't need to specify a path, of course. Then it'll be just pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted package_name.click 🙂

How about rerunning the installer without wipe. That should clear stuff shouldn't it.

Occam's razor wins out. Sometimes the simplest solution works. I just did a reboot and am now using TELEports. 😺

Edit: Or is that the 'law of parsimony' perhaps?

Jotit also installed fine. The camera update is still a no go.

Would that retain all of personal data?

How would that differ to System Settings > Reset device (Erase & Reset All) - besides the erase data part?
