Clear instructions for the uninitiated?
It's a beautiful system, this Ubuntu Touch.
However, I'd like to point out a possible reason why this OS is not catching on.
When you want to install Spotify, by means of something called Libertine, you end up getting instructions written by someone who assumes that everyone knows how to do all sorts of stuff that most people don't know about. You need to get some software here (link) and software with instructions there (another link)....
Not everyone is a computer geek... I don't know what it means to go from "SSH to mobile"...
So, what about a plan with regards to dealing with this issue? Ubuntu (Canonical) usually gives these clear, step-by-step instructions. It would really help...

I agree that we are underdocumented in many places - but developers are mostly poor in documenting, so we need more technical writers - But it seems there are not many people interested in doing that either.
Also, we will not be able to give instructions specific to Android Apps as there is a vast amount of them out there. Also Anbox is not a released stable product, so you cannot expect it to be consumer-grade by now. Its more like a developer preview.
I get what you're saying.
However, even though I can imagine some degree of collaboration from the side of companies such as Spottily is necessary, and thus I understand it's cumbersome to create apps, not having a Spottify app is a deal breaker, for many people. It doesn't help with regards to creating a bigger community with more volunteers.
The other thing I'm missing here is a browser with solid privacy features. Or am I missing something?
Is there a way to install Firefox?
@polyglossia No sorry, Firefox is not available yet. But our Morph Browser is oriented towards privacy, what are you missing there?
@polyglossia Would you like to work together and create like a blog on simple how-to instructions on how to install various things on Ubuntu Touch and get things running? Or add to projects in Ubuntu Touch already? How can we improve what already exists?
I felt the same way encountering Ubuntu Touch's documentation, I am somewhere in the middle of being able to figure this stuff out and of some of it being over my head, and thought beginners would benefit from us breaking things down even further.
It's an open source project - so maybe we could work on simplifying some things to encourage wider appeal?
(The other big thing to me is just about porting UT to more devices, but that's just an ongoing set of projects)

@Flohack i am interested in technical writing! if you would tell me where to start, i could work my way into it. i think i am quite good in explaining non technical people (for example my grandma) technical stuff..
So what exactly does technical writing and documentation mean in this case and what would be a first little mission to get into it?
@commisde Well we would need to review our documentation a) whats missing b) whats not good - Part a) mostly would come from users and their requests what they cannot find. b) we can do on our own to see how we can improve wording and expression.
I you like you can anytime go to docs.ubports.com to see if you find anything worth an improvement. Meanwhile @polyglossia could tell us where exactly the unclear information is coming from and whats missing maybe ?

before i can start contributing i first have to understand, how you work here.. in the internet
in the projects i worked, i always dreamed about a well organised information sytem, but it was all more "physical world related" (building/maintaining a chicken keeping system, organising logistics of food distribution,..) and the people were not very used to using a computer, so we went with a mailing list, an ether-pad and a cloud storage.
it will take me some time to understand github, gitlab and weblate. i will get back, when i have questions.
