Hi @Pingu! You can see the XMPP clients available for UT in the web interface of the openstore for example:

@Pingu hmm Profanity might be a pretty cool idea, given the nice terminal client that is included in UT.

Otherwise, Movim is right now probably the best user experience, even though the app needs an update.

ConverseJS (my app wrapper) works, but is a bit slow and has some rough edges. But this is the only option with OMEMO encryption right now.

Kaidan is promising, but the current version available for UT isn't ready for general use in my opinion.

Edit: you could probably run Conversations in Anbox.

I should probably also reference this thread:

@poVoq Movim and Kaidan does not work properly on Nexus 5 I tried a couple times. Anbox is - the same like Libertine Containers to complicated and I do not want to "re flash" my Phone again . Anbox and Libertine are not save to work with right now for me.

@Pingu I also have a Nexus5 and Movim was working a few weeks ago (didn't check more recently). What exactly is your problem with it?

And did you try my ConverseJS app? It works fine but it a bit slow on the Nexus5 (likely due the the lack of hardware acceleration in the qwebengineview).

@poVoq Movim does not open or breaks down - not usable for me Nexus 5?!? Your ConverseJS is verry good with OMEMO in single chat - works fine. But in MUC I can not see any history - just the things I posted and the answers I got - but I can not see the things the other members are writing - no history.

@Pingu that is odd, normally MUCs should work with MAM chat history on ConverseJS. I just reduced the amount to 10 messages being fetched when joining the MUC to speed it up a bit. But by pulling down it should be able to fetch more.
Are you sure MAM is enabled for these group-chats? Can you give me the JID of a MUC where you are experiencing missing history so that I can try also?

Edit: press the "i" button after joining a MUC to see if server side message archiving (mam) is activated on that MUC. If it is, it should be working. At least here on my Nexus5 with ConverseJS it does.

Regarding Movim: I experienced some issues with the pod picker before. Maybe use UT tweak tool to delete all the cache and settings and try again with a known to be working Movim pod? You can't just use your XMPP server as Movim works with a another proxy server in between.

Sorry in englisch....I do not get the history for exampel on freie-messenger@conference.jabber.de. An other thing is, that I can not store my sign in at the start of the app. Otherwise the app is great!

@Pingu OK, I will try that MUC later today on my Nexus5 to see what goes wrong.

Yes, currently you can not sign in at start up. I am working on an improved version where that is possible, but it will still take some time before it will be released.

@Pingu I checked and it seems to be an specific issue with that MUC and ConverseJS. Not sure what it might be causing it, but I'll try to discuss with the upstream author.

@Pingu Looks like a fix was added recently that should hopefully resolve the MUC MAM issue you are seeing once a new release of ConverseJS is made (and I update the app to it).
