The battery is slowly charging through the computer USB. It's up 10% since I've been messing around getting used to it...at 86% now. I have a battery on the way and I'll swap it out as soon as it arrives. I'm fine leaving it to charge through my computer overnight until then.

I thought I'd be able to use my device and just use the computer to charge it, but it turns out the device reboots and goes blank as soon as the cable is unplugged. Is this what you experienced too, Lakotaubp?

So I installed the best replacement battery I could find, and things looked good...it charged normally through an outlet rather than do the reboot to blank screen thing. But, when I unplugged it and restarted it, it did just that. It still only boots to UT when plugged into my computer. Is there anything else I can do??

@Rowboth Think mine took a couple of reboots to work but not sure, can remember thinging it hadn't worked then all OK. Try reflashin with the installer?

                    Hi,
                    I'm having the same issue.
Coming from LineageOS 16, I tried the snap installer without success. It kept complaining that the connection was lost and I should check the cables. Despite that, it did change the system because I was left with a boot loop showing the UBports logo. By pressing volume down + power I can get to UBports recovery, although I'm not sure what to do with that. I thought of trying to push the UBports zip to the mobile and use the recovery option to install from it.
A bit like you, the installation was successful when I used the deb installer, probably due to snap permissions. Despite the message that it was successful, the boot loop goes on.

Follow up: I was able to successfully install the system. Following a tip from the Telegram group, I flashed TWRP and wiped cache, dalvik, etc. After that, I installed UT using the AppImage installer and could start using the system.

@uamoti I gave up on it for a while and when I came back and saw your post it gave me hope. I was having some trouble executing what you did, but I couldn't continue because my phone simply died. It won't charge, it won't turn on. Nothing. What a bummer.

edit: After many, many attempts to turn it on it finally came back to life. Now I go back to trying to flash TWRP. So far I've been unsuccessful.
