Installation failed on nexus 7
-
Hi! I used ubport installer and all the steps before are normal. The installer detect my nexus 7 automatically and made it boot into bootloader, but then it just keep showing "flashing firmware" and then nothing happened. How do I solve thin? Thanks!

@rob-braxman First thing to try is re boot to recovery and clear cache and factory reset that sometimes is enough. There are a few threads on here about the nexus and can be a bit of a pain.

@Lakotaubp It still doesn't work.

@temp_user When this happend with mine I kept going into recovery, factory resetting and rebooting to android and tried again.You have to keep checking dev mode is on, device unlocked all the normal stuff. You may want to check adb and fastboot also work correctly. What OS are you installing from? also try many different usb cables as they can be a big part of the issue.
As I said search the forum there is a lot on here about nexus 7. Last thing for now you might want to change your user name to something else any problems doing that let us know and we can sort that for you. Will be back later on today. Good luck. -
ok, I'll try what you said. I used it on linux mint 19.3 and windows 7, and I used different cables. The versions I used are 0.4.14 and 0.4.16. I just found someone used ubuntu-device-flash to install. I will try that later.
In an attempt I bricked it, so I used nexus root toolkit to unbrick it with jelly bean(it came with marshmallow when I received it.) -
@SanyoSam Thanks for the name change. If you try windows again you need this version of adb https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 it works better. When you say bricked did you get the dead chip screen? beacause it will restart from there just need to remember how.

When it's bricked I tried to boot it but it only showed "Google" logo and small lock picture under and it just stay frozen like that.

@SanyoSam Have you run fastboot oem unlock for your device. The padlock should be open.
In terminal
fastboot devices - you should see your device listed
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot reboot -
I have already done it. I'm sure it's unlocked. yes, that padlock pic is open.
