SOLVED Bluetooth File Transfer-can't access contacts

SOLVED
After using Bluetooth File Transfer to move my contact list from Blackberry Priv, the preloaded Contact app opens without new contacts added. I don't see an import feature. In File Manager, I see a folder, qmlcache, with 156 files, (my contact list is 500+ entries). Tapping the info icon at the top shows a path-My device/home/phablet/.cache/com.ubuntu.address-book/qmlcache, which was created 4/21/20, accessed 4/4/20. Permissions:Read/Write/Execute. Each file in the list has an icon which is a dog eared page with numbers stacked vertically: 1, 10, 101, 1010. File names are long strings of numbers and letters ending in .jsc or .qmlc.Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. If there is a better way to transfer data, please let me know. I've used Blackberry Content Transfer Successfully several times, Copy my Data not so successfully.

Many things going on here.First did the transfer work.
With the bluetooth file transfer app ? There IIRC you can open the file with an existing app.You might want to use the file manager and store the VCF (I presume) file somewhere like Downloads/
Then within the file manager, you'll have to browse to this file, tap to open and choose to open the file with the contact app.
I think it should work.
I'll check that tomorrow. -
@AppLee sounds right to me.

@AppLee Thanks for your reply. My old phone, Blackberry Priv, said the vcf file was transferred successfully. But searching visually, couldn't find It. The download folder contained the Bluetooth File Transfer app, ubtd.fourloop2002_0.6_armht.click, but that is all. Looking around, I saw a folder named, qmlcache, in File Manager/Places, wondering if that might be something related. The path did mention ubuntu address book. Is there a search feature in UT? If I could search for *.vcf....
Your idea sounds good if I could find the vcf file.
Besides not knowing how to search, how do I move files?
Thanks

Well you can use command line in the terminal.
The files previously downloaded should be in~/.cache/ubtd.fourloop2002/
if cache hasn't been flushed.But if you're not familiar with it (and I'm not sure your transfer worked) I suggest you transfer the VCF file again from you BB.
1- open the "Bluetooth file transfer" app
2- send the file from your BlackBerry
3- within the "bluetooth file transfer" app you should now see the incoming VCF.
4- tap on the file and choose the file manager... -
@AppLee
good advice! Retried transfer via bluetooth. Vcf file came through, I was asked which program to open it in. I chose file manager. Do I choose a folder to save in? Many folders, none say contacts or phone.
jjconstr
Browsing the folders, I see address book and address book app in cache folder.
jjconstr
Inside Address Book Appeared is qmlcache with 156 files I was wondering about yesterday with a long string of numbers for names, ending in .disc or .qmlc.
should the transfer go in the address book appeared folder, the qmlcache folder, or try to let File Manager choose?
jjconstr
I saved the vcf to qmlcache. maybe downloads would have worked too. I found it, clicked it, chose to open it with Contacts. it was imported. applee, it worked just like you said. I think my problem was having bluetooth settings open during transfer rather than Bluetooth File Transfer.
Fabulous!

Yes, as I wrote earlier, you can save the file to the Downloads folder (that's a good access point).
To save the file after browsing the destination folder, tap on the "V" shaped icon (tick)You should edit your last post it's hard to understand most of it ; it's just copy paste from previous messages.

@AppLee well, it is not copy and paste, but three edits . I can see how it could be confusing. sorry for that. gist of it is I followed your instructions to re-transfer, left the File Transfer appeared open. then edited my reply when undecided where to save the cf. any way contacts is still importing.
In Terminal commands, are quotation marks ever used? If so, where are they on my N5 keyboard? and where is under score?
Thanks for steering me to the right track!
