      Hello everybody,

      Phone: One Plus One

Before OTA12 I had problems with my mobile connection going from 4G to "E" after not using the phone for a while. I had to reestablish (going into flight mode and back) the connection in order to get 4G again.

      Now I see a "L". What does "L" mean?

      Thanks
      /Johan

@Johan You will no longer find the 4G icon but L under OTA-12.
L is the abbreviation for LTE Long-Term Evolution, which has been more or less exactly described as 4G Advanced.
        See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_(telecommunication) for more details.

We discussed it a lot, basically there is 4G 4G+ and LTE, and all are mixed up with all the carriers. We probably rework this for OTA-13 as "L" was kinda proposal but people got confused with it. Idk what is better now ^^

              @Flohack
Why not displaying actual connected network?
              4G for 4G
              4+(or if possible 4G+) for 4G+
L (or if possible LTE) for LTE
And same for 3G or H things?

              Why not do that simple?

                Hi,
what about displaying just 2G, 3G or 4G as they are commercially called? It would make less confusion for people not knowing what L or LTE stands for.

@Keneda Because that depends on what RIL (the ril daemon specifically) from Android delivers to us, and it can be device-specific. If it would be easy, we would do it πŸ˜‰

There is no standard encoding of radio technology for example for 4G vs 4G+ ...
