no more LTE
-
hmm i included that, thats rle wierd lol
UK, NOS nexus 5, ee
i had lte until a few days ago coincided with wifi breaking, and the phone didn't fall over to data
-
@TotalSonic The H only shows up due not a what to put in the indicator to cover everyone type issue. It is on the forum somewhere, but everything should work as expected. If you think mobile date is not working try updateing to the dev channel and back that should fix it.
-
@Lakotaubp No, H is not 4G, nor 3G, nor H+.
-
@dobey Ok I was getting mixed up with "L" as here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/4260/meaning-of-mobile-connection-icons?_=1590247315459 So what is H then. Sure I've had it on my OP3 every now and then but might be wrong on that to.
-
H means HSPA - which is enhanced 3G - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Speed_Packet_Access
Best regards,

before a few days ago, it said L, which is what i expect
... i will run some speed tests over the next 24hrs and see what it says, def feels slower
-
@TotalSonic Not to far out then My mobile/data connection varies a lot at present. Put it down to location and extra network traffic.
-
only getting 7-8mbps the last 12hrs, i expect 4 times that on an average day with EE LTE, more on a good day
but that is what i would expect for 3G, so the error is not the letter display, i just dont have LTE any more

@pixelated - have you tried changing your channel (e.g. if you are on Devel or Release Candidate going back to Stable, or if on Stable going to RC) and restarting after the update, and then seeing whether the problem continues or is fixed?
Best regards,
Steve Berson -
@pixelated Is that the phone or provider having signal issues in your area. My Plusnet (same company as we) SIM also drops to H at times. If the changing update channel thing doesn't fix it, can you test the SIM in another device.

L came back half an hour ago lol back to full speed - my phone screen had been on for 11hrs, on lock screen (unintentionally, screen refuses to automatically switch off on lock screen), so perhaps the OS was not able to restablish 4G connection while the screen was off?
wasn't a network issue, not one that was made public anyway - carriers dont tend to hide network issues tbh
i am on stable, but if it happens again i will consider trying a switch ... this is my main phone now though, i dont need more instability hehe
-
I had the same problem, my phone went from L to 2G or E and was very slow. Going into flight-mode and back helped me out but that was annoying.
Thanks for the tips here, I just went from stable to dev, it worked, I'm on dev now. So far I have L all the time!
-
sorry, I was mistaken, 4g is still lost after changing to dev channel, updating and restarting. It still goes to "E".
-
Hi all,
During my holidays, I had better broadcast reception, and it said "L" the whole day. Even got 50Mbit on my One plus One.
Still wonder why after going to airplane mode and back, E goes to L (at bad reception), but I did find out it has a lot to do with the quality of the reception.

@Johan
Yes, if you get a strong signal, your phone will connect to L (LTE i.e. 4G) but if the 2G network is stronger (and it is when you're far from the antenna) and LTE is too weak then your device will switch back to E so it has some connectivity. It depends on your coverage and the carrier you're using.
On stable you should not have this kind of issue from the OS. But it might appears using the DEV channel or with devices with port in progress. -
Thanks AppLee for the explanation. I am on stable with a One Plus One. Lately it is also getting better at home, "L" a lot of the time.
