Super excited to try Ubuntu Touch on my Redmi Note 7, I bought the phone specifically for this purpose. Having a problem, hoping to get some assistance.

When trying to install the stable version, the installer flashes the firmware but when it says it is downloading Ubuntu Touch, it never actually downloads the software. If I run the installer with the development version, the installer visibly downloads and successfully installs Ubuntu Touch on my phone.

Is there a way to manually download the stable Ubuntu Touch software and load onto my phone instead? Or, preferably, get the installer to download the stable software version? Thanks

        Hi and welcome.

If you were able to install the DEV channel on your device, then you can go to the system settings in the update category and choose the STABLE channel.
Once downloaded on your device, you can install it, your phone will reboot on STABLE.

So far I used the installer only once for the initial flash of my N5, so I don't have a clue how it works with latest versions 😉

@rboutin I may well be wrong, but as that is a very new port there may not be stable and rc versions available yet which would explain your issue.

Actually that makes a great deal of sense s I've been checking daily hoping for an installer for the Redmi Note 7. I just saw one on the Devices page yesterday so you could well be correct. Thanks
