Sync google account does not work (PP)

When i try adding a google account to my pinephone, the indicator starts spinning forever without any futher action.
I tried on stable, RC and dev. -
@htc_tattoo online accounts dont work on the PinePhone, Google sync doesnt work on any device, google broke it.

Getting fed up of having to scroll through the same posts each visit?
