        Hello.
First of all I wish a wonderful year to ubports team.

I don't like to talk about bugs here but I do because it's general and it can affect a lot of french people.

Personally, I own and support the Volla phone and the Pinephone and I can't go further than using Ubuntu Touch with Wifi because no cellular SIM data for these two smartphones with the same big operator (open issues you will find), so no SIM internet: it's very frustrating!

I would like to point out that everything works perfectly well on BQ E5 HD, Nexus 5, OPO .. first generation UT phones THANK YOU FOR THEM!

I hope you will be able to look into this problem (in investigation phase for the Volla but bug seems elusive)
        Thank you

I was just wondering if the UBports team was willing to prioritize new devices, like the Pinphone, in regards to development. I love the fact that older devices are supported, but wouldn't it make more sense to spend more time working on newer devices that were made specifically for the purpose of supporting the Linux community?

In seeking ways for developers interested in working on desktop Lomiri to work I've found that adding the UBPorts repository (http://repo.ubports.com/) to 16.04 (xenial) provides a development environment.

We all know that 16.04 support is running out, so I was wondering what the Intel support on the UBports repository is for later series of Ubuntu. I note that there are packages for 18.04 (bionic), but have not investigated how usable they are. Is this something worth trying? Or are there unresolved issues?

And will 20.04 (focal) packages be introduced at some stage?

            [EDIT]

@mariogrip shared Lomiri desktop running on Manjaro https://twitter.com/Mariogrip/status/1349884746806009856.

Does this mean that Manjaro is a good platform for developers interested in working on Lomiri desktop? Or does the above approach of using Ubuntu + UBPorts archive still make sense?

              Hello all,

Wish you all a happy new year and a strong health.

Could it be possible to get a feedback from what happen during this Hackathon, https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5045/ubports-hackathon-nov-13th ?

Could it be possible to have an update on contacts management on UT and Carddav?

Would it be possible to have a nice and smooth nextcloud integration into UT [webdav, caldav (calendar and tasks), carddav]?

              Regards,

              Nexus 5

Is the code for web notifications going to be merged into Morph soon? How could it be utilized in other web apps?

                OnePlus3 (dev)

                    On Twitter, @mariogrip asked:

"What distro you most like to see lomiri in?"

                    Ubuntu for me, please. 🙂

Also, I was surprised (and intrigued) to see someone request Lomiri on Fedora SilverBlue.

QUESTION: I realize you have many things on your plate now, and so I'm not asking about your immediate plans, but would you consider bringing Lomiri to Ubuntu Core sometime in the future?

Two question about translation with weblate via https://translate.ubports.com/:

                      1. why I can't see the website ubuntu-touch.io in the list of components to translate ?
                      2. why translation is locked for a long time for the website ubports.com ?

And one more general question, can you explain what is the strategy to maintain those two different websites, considering it's time consuming to update and translate and neither is in a fully satisfactory condition ?

Ubuntu Core only supports confined snaps. (Not debs, "classic" snaps, or other packaging formats.)

Running any shell under snap confinement is an unsolved problem that I and others are working on. That needs to be addressed before it would be feasible to deploy Lomiri this way.

                            Hello everybody!
This is a message from the Axolotl maintainers, it could be nice if it can be said during the Q&A: we're releasing new versions and I hope you are happy about it. But despite our efforts, Signal upstream are changing things too quick for us to follow the speed. We're looking for golang developers to give us an hand, even only a few hours would be helpful. This is needed as actually, contacts discovery is broken and new groups v2 with admin aren't implemented in Axolotl. And many new users are join Signal because of the WhatsApp policy changes, so it is important to provide it to UT users 😉

                            Thanks and keep rocking!

Happy new year!! 😃 My pinephone stable image is still on the 09.18.20 version. What happened with "push the button" from last episode? XD
