Changing operator/sim card

I'm in the process of changing my carrier, will i loose any personnal data, such as contact or sms/mms, when i'll switch old sim card with the new one, knowing i'll keep same phone number?

@keneda Only data that are stored on the sim card. Some basics contacts and text messages can be lost. Sim card is not able to stock any media nor documents.
Note that if your current carrier offers you a cloud to store your data (emails, pictures, etc,,,) , they will all be removed as your account will be canceled. -
