When I have an app open (e.g. music) and want to open a second one, I have a very hard time getting the launcher to slide out? This is on a N5 and equally challenging on a pinephone.

Either with the first app full screen, or by first swiping left to get to app-switcher mode (? not sure of the name?), in either case if I hold my finger to the far left edge and try and swipe right I can't get the launcher to slide out 9 out of 10 times. Sometimes holding my finger in the far left edge and moving slightly up and down will finally get the launcher to expose a little bit, but it really takes a lot of effort.

I don't think there are adjustment settings for this in UTT but maybe I am missing something?? Thanks for any help in multitasking!!!

OK this has been discussed here already: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5593/problems-navigating-ui?_=1616043859494

I just tried increasing "Ubuntu Tweak Tool > Edge Sensitivity > Edge drag areas width" (it was a 2 before, trying 4) and it seems to address the issue. I'll report back after a few days usage, but this may be the setting I didn't find before.

Yes UTTT can help with that.
What is strange is that with default settings, it's nice and easy with my N5.

I don't currently use a case, but even with a thin case I had no trouble.
If you use a thicker case then it might be the cause.

Else I would be concerned about the touch screen starting to fail...

@applee Thanks for the reply. I have a case which has a raised edge, so it is hard to get to the edge properly. Also I have a glass screen protector. So that could add to the challenge.

On the pinephone, I have a raised edge case plus a glass screen protector that is slightly too small (it is for a Moto G7 Plus), so that makes the edge a bit difficult.

Trying a bit more I had to increase the N5 edge setting to it's max, 6, but it seems to work better (still it doesn't detect sometimes)

@rik I too have a N5 and swiping from the edges and the top has always been easy. Swiping from the bottom however is a different matter, and is always difficult even with Edge drag area set to 5 in UTT tool. It is likely a hardware problem for me because I have no screen protection.

Yes. This will make edge swipes more difficult on any phone when such case is used.
