How to get Whatsapp working on UT?
-
Hi all, I have a perfectly working OTA-16 on a Nexus 5 and I was wondering how to make Whatsapp working (since I can find a lot of video online about it), also considering that Anbox comes pre-installed since the latest update of UT.
Just to start, is it necessary to install microG and, if yes, which is the best way to do this?
Thanks in advance for your kind help,
Luca

@luke AFAIK you need to get the .apk and then install it via adb.
-
@luke Indeed, you need to first install Anbox doing:
sudo anbox-tool install
Reboot twice.
Then download your Android apps (ex. WhatsApp) in your download's folder, and install with:
adb install /home/phablet/Downloads/WhatsApp.apk

@stanwood Thanks a lot for your help, but ... what about Google services?
-
@luke No Google services available now.
You have to install and update manually your APK apps.
There's a wip on anbox to much improve it, that is running, if you wish to participate: https://gofund.me/acb31504 -
@stanwood Edit: It seems that there's a packet updater that works on Anbox (didn't tried it yet):

Guys how to get anbox working on halium_arm64 xiaomi note 7?
-
@siwuarek If the kernel is enabled and you are on devel channel, simply run
anbox-tool install
in the terminal. -
Not so simple, in terminal I got msg
halium_arm64 is not supported (yet) -
@siwuarek That means Anbox is not yet integrated to the device image.
You can install it manually following Rudi's webpage:

Thnx I was looking for manual
