After an update it appears that webapps on my Nexus 7, will not start. They appear to try and then the screen returns to the home/start page. It seems to effect all my webapps like "BBC news", "Google Map UT" etc. but apps like book readers, Morph, weather etc. are working fine.

Alas my update path was not wise and I jumped from the Stable to RC channel a few times. I've tried reinstalling all apps and updating to newer RC versions, but I still have the issue. Anyone know if there are logs that show why webapps didn't start? Or what may be broken or missing?

      Thanks in advance.

@gps1539 Those are probably old webapps that uses oxide (the old and obsolete web engine. It was removed in OTA-16 so they won't work anymore. I suggest, just recreate them using Webber.

Both BBC News and Google Maps UT were made using the "Ogra" container - which uses the Oxide engine. Oxide was deprecated and removed from OTA16 (because it was a Canonical project for their own web engine that has not been supported since 2017, and because UBports team does not have enough resources to continue developing it, so UT switched to QtWebEngine instead) - so any webapps and apps which depend on it will no longer work in up to date versions of Ubuntu Touch.

I suggest using the Webber app to create your own webapps for sites which you find a need to have them, and which are not yet available in the Open Store.

          Best regards,
