Custom clock alarm sound

I downloaded a ring tone to use as my alarm sound in the Clock application but it does not work, that is to say the visual alert appears on screen (snooze or OK), and the vibrator buzzes gently, but there is no sound from the speakers. That ringtone sounds when I select it as Default Alarm Sound, but not when an alarm event is signalled by the application. (Note that the sounds installed by UT all work if I choose them instead so the phone is OK.)
Is this a known fault or am I doing something wrong?

Don't know but at least thank to you i now know now we can customise it

I ran a test today, changing default alarm sound («alarm clock») with another alarm sound natively provided in utouch («Marimbach»), and alarm rang with default «alarm clock» anyway... Even if ringtone "preview" plays the good one and setting is registered correctly.Rebooting does not fix.

I do not have this issue, pixel 3a rc 2021-w23.
Any alarm I select plays the selected.
Do one of you have an RC build to try?Currently Using: Google Pixel 3a (sargo) OTA-17

So I am not the only one. Incidentally I use a Nexus 5 on RC channel. (I would change to stable but that is not possible.)

Any alarm i select plays the selected, but any alarm i set that fire, plays the default sound anyway, so, does the alarm you set, fire with the selected sound?
