@ubportsnews great news, but I wish pinephone got some update too.
-
@olddh I highly suggest you switch to kerneluprgade or devel for now if you're just testing and not using it daily. Hopefully, we do get a stable release

@kugiigi just seems like the pinephone is a missed opportunity, it could be the first real linux phone for everyone. Instead rooting old android phones is the priority? The potential for Ubuntu Touch is there, but an independent phone would be more consistent with the idea of linux, IMO.

@olddh
I don't pretend to know what you think is done by UBports core team.But be sure that People are working on the Pinephone.
Also people are working on global system features.There is no priority given to Android ports, most ports come from community members.
The priority is towards a better OS for everyone.
BTW thanks to everyone involved in OTA18, this is a good update, so thanks developers, testers, translators, ...

@applee look, I am rooting for UT to take off and be the modern alternative to iOS/Android, the more the merrier. But imagine if say the Pinephone or Librem 5 could be daily drivers as true Linux based phones using UT? That would be something. I get it, Librem 5 has its own Purism support, but Pinephone is up in the air what could be the dominant OS on it. No reason it can't be UT.

All getting a bit OT for this thread which was just to announce the release of OTA-18. Pease feel free to carry on the Pine discussion in one of the existing threads on this topic but I am locking this.
