porting lenovo smart tab m10 plus x606

@fp2andfp3-user did you try to unplug the cable and just push the power button?
-
@luksus yes I Tried.....nothing happened.... 75 seconds.....nothing only red light led
-
@FP2andFP3-User
Is the red light on, even if no cable is plugged?
When flashing, did you leave the preloader checked, as kugiigi suggested?
Which device do you got exactly: X606X, X606F, X606XA, X606FA ?
Which image did you flash?
Can you enter fastboot mode: long press power + volume down together?I was in similar situations multiple times, so I think there should be a way out.
Can you try to reflash it with SPFlashtool, maybe with the next newer image version?
Normally the device is off, you start the download-process in flash-tool and then you connect it the usb-cable, but sometimes I needed to push the power button, if nothing happened after connecting usb (I did experiment with preloaders from different versions, what did not went very well and I ended up in the same situation like you). -

@fp2andfp3-user The official tool from lenovo helped me recover mine before. Try that.
-
@kugiigi i have Tried yesterday but which driver? Before it recognized and after it told me cannot connect hardware
-
@fp2andfp3-user Sorry I can't remember anymore the details. From what I remember, the tool just successfully reflashed android on my tablet without much fuss.

Hi all,
I got this tablet just today to flash it with UT.
I've followed instructions here https://gitlab.com/ubports/community-ports/android9/lenovo-tab-m10-fhd-plus/lenovo-x606#installOne of the steps is to downgrade the tablet to Android 9.
I tried ROMs from here https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/lenovo/Tab_M10_FHD_Plus_2nd_Gen/ one by one to find out which one is Android 9. After flashing the third ROM tablet won't
power on anymore. LED indicating charging is on but pressing
the power button does nothing and holding volume down + power button does nothing either.
SP Flash tool gave no errors during the flash yet the tablet won't
power on.
My model is X606F MediaTek.Any suggestions ?

@marek_python @Luksus
The same for me i will check More Details in the evening -
I don't know if it helps but I noticed this error output when trying to flash the tablet with another ROM. Right before it fails it outputs:
Search usb, timeout set as 3600000 ms add@/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb2/2-5 add@/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb2/2-5/2-5:1.0 add@/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb2/2-5/2-5:1.0/tty/ttyACM0 vid is 0e8d device vid = 0e8d pid is 0003 device pid = 0003 com portName is: /dev/ttyACM0 Total wait time = -1626951210.000000 USB port is obtained. path name(/dev/ttyACM0), port name(/dev/ttyACM0) USB port detected: /dev/ttyACM0 BROM connected Downloading & Connecting to DA... connect DA end stage: 2, enable DRAM in 1st DA: 0 Failed to Connect DA: STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL(-1073348605) Disconnect! I got this output by pressing the power button while the flash tool is attempting to connect.
-
@marek_python mh, I think that is an expected error, if the device is not turned off, when trying to start the flash procedure...
So what happens, if you start the flashing process, then connect the usb at the turned off device without pushing any button?
-
I believe this is the Android version I flashed on mine -
TB-X606F_S100015_191127_BMP
since I still have a copy of it.Am I correct, that you both haven't even successfully flashed/downgraded Android and booted?
-
@luksus
OK so it looks like me pressing the power button had no effect on the error. It outputted the same error without me touching any buttons.Failed to connect DA
is at least some clue. -
@kugiigi
Yeah that's right. I'm trying now just to get Android 9 working on the tablet. -
@kugiigi
I hadTB-X606F_S100015_191127_BMP
working on the tablet. But it was Android 10, not 9. Then I went on the next ROM which is the ROM ending 923 and the tablet won't power on. -
@marek_python Are you sure? Hmm...as you can see in the downloads site, it's the oldest file there so I would assume it is indeed the very first version.
-
@kugiigi
Unfortunately I'm sure as it is the second ROM I tried and it was 10. I reckon it was the oldest release in that downloads folder which is little bit odd since it was supposed to be downloads folder with Android 9 releases.I'm trying to find out if there's any chance of getting TWRP working on it but how if it won't even boot into fastboot.
-
@marek_python I see. Actually I kind of remember that there was indeed weird with the dates there. Does SP flash tool still detect your tablet for flashing?
Also, have you tried Lenovo's rescue tool?On a side note, Dalton was indeed correct, flashing this tablet can be a PITA I thought when I successfully did it, other people can just following my steps and notes.
-
What was important for my device, that I also choose the right "Download-Agent" (MTK_AllInOne_blalba.bin) from the image folder, which I wanted to flash.
I had the impression that it starts to flash more reliable without error, if I press (only) the volume down button, while plugging the usb cable.
Then I have had an issue, which is described here together with a solution:
https://www.programmersought.com/article/74183233522/But as you already did a successful flash, I don't think that you need this.
I am still not sure if you tried to boot your devices, without any plug in it... For me it was a solution sometimes.
It is also worth to try different long-press combinations with volume up/down or all together...
And did you try to enter fastboot mode?ah, you did -
@kugiigi
No the flash tool isn't detecting the tablet. Good thinking with the Lenovo Rescue Tool. It has option to restore completely "dead" device. Sadly the restoration progress is stuck on "connect device and do flashing". Following:- Power off device (done. It's already dead ) and disconnect from PC
- Press volume up and connect to PC with USB.
- Click OK to continue
- Release volume key after restoration begins.
It looks like even their own tool can't detect it.
Will keep trying. All UT devices I've had were acting up at first and then they folded and UT was on it.
