        Hello!

I have been enjoying my new Volla Phone with Ubuntu Touch(stable channel) for a few days and was wondering how I could run the latest version of Waydroid correctly.

        I first looked here https://github.com/waydroid/anbox-halium
And then I execute this command

        wget -O - https://github.com/Anbox-halium/anbox-halium/raw/lineage-17.1/scripts/install.sh | bash

And when I run "run-container.sh" I get an error about ashem or binder. No idea what that is...

When looking around more I found this.
        https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/dailyuse/anbox.html#run-anbox-installer

I just had to execute this command in my terminal

        anbox-tool install

This worked and I now have Anbox running but it runs on Android 7.1.1 while Waydroid is using lineage 17.1 which is Android 10.

Also it runs really slow I have the feeling that I did something wrong.

The version of Anbox I am running doesn't want to install the Banking app that I need.

        tl;dr:

How can I install/run the latest version of Waydroid?

        🌹

Yes, you installed anbox with the last command you quoted, wich is not waydroid ("anbox-halium"), and wich doesn't run as well as waydroid.

And i'm afraid you mixed up with waydroid (first command you quoted).

Anbox is not waydroid, and that's why they chose to call the last waydroid, to avoid people think that's the same.

Both run in a very different way.

I'll add that waydroid is in early testing shape, wich mean no easy way to install for now, and should be used by advanced users only.

            @keneda Thanks šŸ™‚
I guess I will wait until there is a easy way to install it.

@keneda About that (And I already tried to ask in the Telegram chat with no real solution) They are more focused on waydroid desktop, but I wanted to ask if just in case there is an update, how to update?

I was wondering if I have to uninstall the whole thing re-download the script to reinstall again. I don't know if there are actually updates

I managed to install Waydroid after reinstalling Ubuntu Touch OTA-19. I followed the instructions from another thread.
But be careful, messing it up might force you to reinstall Ubuntu Touch.

Waydroid is running much better than Anbox. Like Keneda is pointing out it is still " in early testing shape" well a month less early testing shape now!
And has a easier way to install it šŸ™‚

@quget It would be great if you could give feedback on the apps you have tested on Waydroid. Especially if you have tested a mail client. Thanks
