      Hello,

On my oneplus one UBtouch ota 19 (also in 20), the clock is reset after every reboot. In internet it synchs automatically but without internet connection, the clock stays wrong.

      Is that expected?

      Kind Regards

Did you try to set clock manually as a workaround ?
I'm afraid that's the only idea i'll have to submit, i'm far from being a coder.

@hugehead it would seem your clock battery is dead, and your clock looses charge when the device is not powered. In other words, it seems like a hardware issue.

I though about that but clock battery is usefull only when you remove the device battery, like on a PC motherboard when unplugged from wall power, no ?

@keneda As I understand it, the clock battery comes into play whenever the device is not switched on.

Maybe it's different from PC / game station on smartphone then.

I am pretty sure it is! πŸ˜‰

But what bugs me is that his phone should always sync the time via his carrier/provider even without Data Enabled because that's what phones do for many years now as far as I know ?!

                      My phones :

                      • BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Phone Edition - Ubuntu Touch 16.04 LTS
                      • ZUK Z2 Pro - ZUI Android 8.x
                      • Xiaomi Mi 9T - Jolla SailFish 3.4.x Community Build

                      P.S. : I am NOT a developer! ;)

Well, in this one case the phone acts exactly like a desktop computer... πŸ˜‹

Phones don't have room for a CMOS battery, and a quick look on OnePlus forums came up with a known time reset issue on the One model, is it a new issue since UB? does it happen if the phone is connected to a power source while it is restarting?

Hadn't thought about that, but that makes a lot of sense. Yet another area where phones differ from laptop/desktops.
